INTEGRATED ASTROPHOTONICS
ZIK-innoFSPEC – Leibnitz-Institut für Astrophysik Potsdam
Funding period: 01.09.2016-31.08.2021
Funding agency: German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
This project aims at a comprehensive development of applications of integrated optics to advanced astronomical instrumentation, encompassing generation of optical frequency combs for the precise calibration of astronomical spectrographs, beam combiners for multi-telescope stellar interferometry and integrated photonics spectrometers.
I’m currently looking for personnel to staff my group. Please have a look at the available positions:
- Postdoc – Integrated optics for stellar interferometry.
- Postdoc part-time/Doctoral student – Development of frequency-stabilised optical frequency combs
- Postdoc part-time/Doctoral student – Efficient starlight coupling in integrated optics components with low-order AO and photonic lanterns.
ADVANCED LASER WRITING FOR STELLAR INTERFEROMETRY
Institute of Applied Physics – Friedrich Schiller University Jena
Funding period: 01.07.2014-30.06.2017
Funding agency: German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
This cooperative project with the University of Cologne aims at developing 4-telescope integrated beam combiners for mid-infrared stellar interferometry by means of ultrafast laser inscription in chalcogenide glasses.
